AI Visibility Audit: Where do you stand in the answer today?
In a one-off engagement we measure where your brand stands today in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other AI answers. We map your site’s technical readiness, the consistency of your entity details and where competitors pull ahead. The output is a prioritised task list.
An AI visibility audit is a one-off piece of work that measures, with a fixed question set, whether a brand is mentioned, cited and described accurately in AI answers. Technical access, structured data, content and third-party sources are reviewed too. The output is a baseline measurement and a prioritised task list.
What does the audit measure?
| Area | What we check | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Answers | Mentions, citations and accuracy per engine on a fixed question set | Engine × question table (baseline) |
| Technical access | AI bot status in robots.txt, content readable without JavaScript, sitemaps | Blocker list and fixes |
| Entity | Consistency of name, description, address and services across site, profiles and directories | Inconsistency list |
| Content | Is there an answer page per question, is the answer clear, is there evidence and a date | Page-level gaps |
| Sources | Third-party sites shown in answers and whether competitors appear there | Source map |
| Google data | Impressions in Search Console’s generative AI report | Impressions by page and country |
What do we find most often?
- Search bots blocked by mistake. At OpenAI, OAI-SearchBot serves search and GPTBot serves training; robots.txt changes take about 24 hours to reach OpenAI’s systemsSource 1: Overview of OpenAI crawlers. Anthropic separates search (Claude-SearchBot), training (ClaudeBot) and user requests (Claude-User) tooSource 2: Does Anthropic crawl data from the web, and how can site owners block the crawler?.
- Content drawn only by JavaScript. In Vercel’s 2024 measurement the major AI crawlers did not execute JavaScriptSource 6: The rise of the AI crawler (Dec 2024), so they see an empty page.
- The brand appearing with different names, addresses or descriptions in different places.
- No page at all that answers the questions people ask.

Presentation
We walk through the findings and the prioritised task list in a call.
The audit fee is credited against the first invoice if you move to a monthly engagement, and the baseline becomes month one’s comparison point.
