Entity and Knowledge Graph: Be recognised the same, correctly, everywhere
Search engines and AI models try to recognise your brand not just as a word but as an “entity” with a name, description, address, products and founders. When those details disagree across your site, profiles and directories, models give incomplete or wrong answers. Entity work fixes that consistency.
Entity optimisation is the work of making a brand’s name, description, contact details and relationships appear the same, and verifiably, across the web. The Organization data on the site, official profiles, directory listings and open data sources are linked together, which lowers the chance that models confuse or misdescribe the brand.
What is an entity and why does it matter?
A coined name like “Kaynaq” can be a single-meaning entity for models, while a common word collides with other meanings. Either way, for a model to talk accurately about your brand it needs to see the same facts in many trusted places, in the same form.
Inconsistencies usually hide in old addresses and phone numbers, closed branches, variant spellings of the brand name, outdated service lists and former executives still shown as in charge.
What should you mark up on your site?
Google says Organization structured data can influence which logo appears in Search and some details in the knowledge panel, and recommends placing it on the home page or a single page about the organisation, such as the About pageSource 1: Organization structured data. There are no required properties; add those that apply: name, address, logo, contact details, tax ID, official profilesSource 1: Organization structured data.
The sameAs property states that the organisation on your site is the same entity as an official profile elsewhereSource 2: sameAs (Schema.org property): a LinkedIn company page, Google Business Profile, or a professional body listing.
Google says structured data is not required to appear in generative AI search and there is no special schema.org markup to addSource 5: Optimizing your website for generative AI features on Google Search. We set up Organization data so the brand is recognised correctly everywhere, not “for AI”.
Can you be on Wikidata and Wikipedia?
Wikidata accepts an item that meets one of three criteria: a sitelink to a Wikimedia page, a clearly identifiable entity described by serious and publicly available references, or a structural need for other itemsSource 3: Wikidata:Notability. For a new brand the second criterion means being covered by independent sources.
On Wikipedia, employees and paid editors are strongly discouraged from editing articles about their own organisation directly; paid editing must be disclosed and changes should be proposed on talk pagesSource 4: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. So Kaynaq does not write Wikipedia articles for clients. We assess eligibility and work on coverage in independent sources.

Frequently asked questions
01Do you guarantee a knowledge panel?
No. Google builds knowledge panels with its own systems. Organization data can influence the logo and some detailsSource 1: Organization structured data, but nobody can guarantee a panel.
02An AI gives wrong information about us. What can we do?
First we find where the error comes from: an old directory listing, an outdated profile or an inaccurate article. We fix it at the source, publish the correct facts clearly on your site and track the change in later measurements.
03Will you create a Wikipedia page for us?
No. Wikipedia’s conflict-of-interest rules do not allow itSource 4: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. We assess eligibility and work on coverage in independent sources.
