GEO for B2B and export: Being the supplier in a foreign buyer’s answer
A procurement specialist looking for a new supplier may ask an AI about a product, a certificate and a country in their own language. The answer is compiled from company sites, industry directories, trade fair lists and news. This page covers what it takes for your company to appear in that answer with accurate information.
For an exporter, GEO means being mentioned accurately in the supplier questions foreign buyers ask in their own language. Each language lives at its own URL linked with hreflang, company information is defined with Organization data, product and certificate details are measurable and sourced, and measurement happens in the target market’s language.
What does a foreign buyer ask AI?
The question set is built from your products and target markets. Format examples:
- Which companies in Türkiye make [product] and hold [certificate]?
- Which countries does [company] export to, and what is its production capacity?
- Who are suitable suppliers of [product] for the [country] market?
How should a multilingual site be built?
- Each language lives at its own URL; Google recommends separate URLs rather than switching language with cookies or browser settingsSource 1: Managing multi-regional and multilingual sites.
- Language versions are linked with hreflang. Google determines a page’s language from its visible content, not from code-level language tagsSource 1: Managing multi-regional and multilingual sites.
- Visitors are not redirected automatically to the language you guess they speakSource 1: Managing multi-regional and multilingual sites.
- Text is written in the market’s own terms rather than translated word for word; technical terms, units and standard names appear as the target market uses them.
How is company information defined?
Google’s Organization structured data has no required properties; you add the ones that fit, such as name, address, logo, contact details, tax ID and official profilesSource 2: Organization structured data. The sameAs property points to the company’s official pages on other sitesSource 3: sameAs (Schema.org property), such as a LinkedIn company page, a chamber of commerce record or an industry association membership.
The same legal name, address and founding details are written identically in trade fair exhibitor lists, industry directories and associations. More on the Entity and Knowledge Graph page.
How should product and certificate information be written?
- Each product’s technical specifications, dimensions, materials and standards live on their own page, in measurable form.
- Certificates and test reports are published with document number, issuing body and validity date.
- Product structured data matches exactly what the page shows.
- Figures such as production capacity, lead times and export countries are published only when current and verifiable.
What do we measure?
The question set is written in each target market’s language and measured separately per language. We check whether your company appears under its correct legal name with current information, and whether your site or reliable third-party sources are cited.
Frequently asked questions
01Which languages do you measure in?
We work directly in Turkish and English. How other target languages are handled is agreed in the intro call; each language is measured separately.
02Are marketplace and directory profiles cited in AI answers?
It depends on the question and the engine. We see in measurement which sources are cited and make sure the ones that matter for your company carry accurate, consistent information.
03Do trade fair and association memberships help?
Appearing in these sources with accurate, identical information increases the number of sources giving consistent information about your company. The membership can also be linked to your official page with sameAsSource 3: sameAs (Schema.org property).
